The Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) has closed for FY 2024. This grant is an annual appropriation and we anticipate it to open again in Spring 2025.

The Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient Nation. The goal of PSGP is strengthened port-wide risk management and protection of critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies.

  • Public information and warning
  • Screening, search, and detection
  • Access control and identity verification
  • Physical protective measures (equipment)

  • All applications must be submitted by June 24, 2024

The Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP)  has closed for FY 2024. This grant is an annual appropriation and we anticipate it to open again in Spring 2025.

The Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP) provides funds to eligible publicly owned operators of public transportation systems (which include intra-city bus, commuter bus, ferries, and all forms of passenger rail) to protect critical surface transportation infrastructure and the traveling public from acts of terrorism and to increase the resilience of transit infrastructure. This program is tailored to focus on two priorities, including enhancing cybersecurity and enhancing the protection of soft targets/crowded places.

Eligible uses & technology

  • Enhancing cybersecurity
  • Enhancing the protection of soft targets / crowded places
    • This includes physical security enhancements at rail and bus stations located in historically eligible Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) cities (e.g. Security cameras (CCTV); security screening equipment for people and baggage; access controls (fencing, gates, barriers)
